I'm tall (5'9"), attractive and I love to dance. I enjoy my own space at times, but would love to have someone to share good times, good conversation, and to just hang out with. I'm honest, independent and have a good sense of humour; I can even laugh at myself when the situation calls for it. I'm an optimist and laughter is a very important commodity in my life; I'm drawn to people who can make me laugh. I'm a good friend; fr iendships are important to me, and my friends always know their secrets are safe with me. In case this sounds too good to be true, remember I said "independent"... sometimes to a fault. If I get my back up (seldom happens) I've been known to say "I don't need this" and back off completely. Cutting off my nose to spite my face, my mother used to say. Anyway, I'm working on that.
I have brought up five children who turned into five good adults. We don't spend as much time together as I'd like, but we all know where the others are if we're in need. I'm retired after 20 years with the Federal Government... I'd like to say I've been missed, but I think my position became redundant shortly after I left! I've never won an award worth mentioning, but I got to be 65 without causing trouble for any other person while retaining a few good friends; since my husband's passing in 1997 I haven't had any one special man in my life... a situation which has its good times as well as its lonely ones. I'm comfortable in my own skin and like the person I've become.

When we meet for the first time you will be dressed comfortably, but very cleanly; your hair will have been washed, your teeth brushed and if you have facial hair it will be neatly groomed. You may feel it's unnecessary to mention this, but then, you didn't see the last 'gentleman' I met this way. I look upon this as a sign of respect; I give respect, and I require it. You like animals... I have a dalmation and two cats who have provided companionship and entertainment. Oh yes... you do not smoke; not near me, at any rate, and you don't have a bigoted bone in your body. We're going to get along very well!!
