I have lived most of my life right here in Alabama.  Some people might hold that against me, but I am a southern lady by the grace of God.  I am 5' 10",  average build, and mostly brown hair and brown eyes.   I have been an educator all my adult life, and it's amazing that I am still sane, but I love my job.  I love to be outside, and I enjoy gardening and going to Lake Martin. I enjoy using the computer, and I dabble in digital photography.  ( However, I haven't conquered Photoshop Elements ...yet) I love to be with people, and most of my friends tell me  that I am the life of the party. I love dancing and being with other people. I am not shy, and I meet people easily, but I am not aggressive. I love to be loved, and I have a lot to give to others. I have been a widow since 1997.  My husband died with a massive heart attack.  I am lucky to have a beautiful daughter who presented me (and her husband)  with the most handsome grandson in the world (you now I am not biased!!). My Mother is 81, and I have one brother who also lives here. My family is very important to me. I look forward to each day and what it may hold for me. I have a little roommate whose name is Tippie.  She is a 13 year old puppy dog that I have had since she was 5 weeks old.  I guess she's also my best buddy.     Having fun is important to me, and I like doing new things and going new places. I like to think of my partner as a playmate, and the nicest compliment I could receive is being thought of as your best friend. I think I have a lot of good things to offer in a relationship, and I try to be honest and open.

My life so far has not been anything out of the ordinary.  I love a peaceful and secure lifestyle.  My biggest success was producing a wonderful daughter and raising her to be a fine woman and now wife and mother.  My career as a teacher has been rewarding and fulfilling. It is always a thrill to run into one of my former students and hear about how successful they have become. I hope one day very soon to retire, and have more time to stay at the lake and just enjoy the outside.  I guess that comes from being inside most of those schooldays in my life. I hope that I can find a partner who would enjoy the same.

I'd like to meet a man who has a similar lifestyle, educational background, religious preferences, and interests. My only requirements for appearance are neat, clean and presentable for the occasion.  I would want to know by looking at you that you care about your appearance.  I want someone who will be considerate of me and care about my happiness as well as his. I am looking for a lasting relationship, but I am not in any hurry to make decisions. I would want the man to value his family and mine above everything. I would like a partner who enjoys going out, dancing, eating out, and who also likes to curl up and watch a movie together at home or read books together.  I don't mind if a man hunts, fishes, plays golf or watches sports as long as he likes to do things with me most of the time. There will be things that I like to do that he probably won't want to do either.(like shopping?) A man who helps around the house is a plus, and even if I don't need or want help it is always nice to hear the offer of help.
