I'm Italian (first generation Sicilian)and NOT a romantic. More senti mental and loving, actually. I don't like wine either. I never got over the smell of the musky grapes in the back yards of my neighborhood in Little Italy in San Diego. Give me a dry, very cold Martini any time. I like dancing, bowling (although it's been awhile), dining out, long walks, road trips, live theatre, movies, various types of novels (good writing, not trite stuff). I prefer to watch movies at home without the interruption of the general public. I love words. Talk to me. I admire good writers and speakers. It is extremely important that my date "get" my sense of humor. Sometimes it's dark, sarcastic and often misunderstood. If you "get it", you'll love it. I like to cook and be cooked for. Either going out or staying home appeals to me. It would depend on what's going on that day and with whom I'm doing the planning. I have worked at self-education. I have a wonderful, imaginative mind, am intuitive and I consider myself to be naturally intelligent. I made the mistake of not furthering my formal education, but believe it's never too late. Please do not bore me with thrill seeking or sports. Ugh! I live in a body which is healthy and vigorous and not too bad looking. My mind is inquisitive and open and I love the young as well as the old. I believe everyone who is here BELONGS on this planet. I am a pacifist.
I have developed into what I think is an admirable and good human being. I am caring and giving. I am no mercenary. I am a minimalist. I direct my energy, which is a vital part of me, to those who respect, like and love me. I am an accomplished communicator and think of my self as a peacemaker. I am extremely domestic, yet sophisticated as well. I consider myself to be a great and loyal friend to the deserving person. I am hard working and believe in working hard. Retire is not a word in my vocabulary.
Obviously, I'm looking for a good conversationalist with an open mind. Ultra conservative would not be my thing. I am a moderate and want you to be a moderate also. You must treat me with consideration and compassion. I want you to be yourself at all times. I don't want to get to know someone he "thinks he NEEDS to be" around me. That spells trouble every time. If you are addicted to sports, do not reply! The key word her is addicted. I realize most men like some sports. It would be grand if you trusted me with your past as well as your future dreams. I hate the word "baggage". Life's experiences are NOT "baggage"! Sensitivity is essential to me. A giver who is not self-centered would be delightful! Looks are NOT important AT ALL to me. You need to be clean and well groomed. I like hugs, but not grabs or gropes. Only good guys need respond. You know who you are.
