So how does a guy who loves indie music and indie movies wind up in such a structured place like the U.S. Navy? Like the commercials say, it's a great way to get to travel—aside from my stays on the East Coast (West Virginia, Virginia, Florida), I've been to Costa Rica, El Salvador, Panama and my favorite, the chance to chill on a secluded beach in Ecuador. The other plus is that I can make enough money to get back to college so I can complete my B.S. in Computer Science (I work on computers and other electronics). Enough about work. Let's talk music. Punk, ska, reggae, house, Trance, Drum & Bass, Salsa, Reggaeton, classic rock. And I love going to music festivals! The last concert I went to was the Vans Warped tour 04. Before that, Bad Religion, The Casualties, and Flogging Mollies. I'm a freak for the beach, but I wish I could surf better so the fish would stop making fun of me. Oh well, I like to make people laugh—if the fish laugh, too, I guess that's OK. Since I'm starting to really love sushi, I guess I'll be the one that gets the last laugh. I see us checking out new indie bands together, going camping (you don't mind getting a little dirty camping, right?), dancing at the local clubs to techno/hip hop/salsa, discovering favorite Mexican and Italian restaurants, or just staying in, snuggling while we watch a great indie movie. Though Quentin Tarentino isn't exactly romantic, I sure like his stuff! Maybe this sounds silly, but once we click, we could even sign up to volunteer for a good cause together. You're as open (and open-minded) to new people and cultures as I am. And, most important, if you can find humor in the day-to-day adventure—we just might make a wonderful team!
