Happiness is the most important thing to me. The things that make me most happy are family, friends, children, romance, learning and fun. I am unique because I treat everyone the same way I want to be treated- with trust, respect, honour and love. Why is that unique? Because, these days, it is uncommon for people to trust, respect, honour and love someone right from the start. Most of the time it feels as if one must EARN these things. In reality, it should be the other way around. You should trust, respect, honour and love someone, UNLESS they give you a reason not to.
I have overcome a lot in my life. I was adopted when I was 8 years old. Up until that time, I lived in poverty and I was the primary care giver for two siblings under 5 years old. I have overcome learning disabilities. I was told that I would never go to high school. Not only did I attend high school, I graduated from high school and am attending college. I have never done drugs in my life. I don't have a criminal record. I love my family and try to spend time with them every week. I am healthy. I have goals. I think that those are ALL accomplishments in this day and age.
I would like to meet someone who is funny, respectful, self confident though not cocky, has achievable goals set, is romantic and who will be my other half. Appearance is not everything. I am much more attracted to someone with a great personality but not the media-defined beautiful appearance, than to the person who the media defines as beautiful but has no personality. I love children, so naturally I would like to meet someone who loves children too.
