A compliment I recently received was: "You're certainly complex, but you aren't complicated!" Perhaps I've attained whatever part of this compliment that I deserve, from being a mature, slow-developer. I'd always been a late bloomer, in part because nearly everyone in my family lives into their late 90's. Thus did I mature PHYSICALLY and other ways, much more slowly than most. At 64, I've had many rich ("wonderful/terrible") life and work experiences -- including a very happy 30-year marriage (my husband died suddenly four years ago -- I've done my grieving well, and have recently emerged from it very calm and happy). For nearly 40 years I was a ghostwriter (for corporations, inventors, scientists, and other writers). Now I'm have the situation to write (finally) what I want, for ME -- poems, novels, and a blog soon to go up. Am 6'0, 175 pounds -- and enjoy bicycling, weights, walking, hiking. My recreational joy is riding my BMW touring bike around the Bay Area (and on longer jaunts, particularly when I find a riding partner). If THAT guy turned up and and then turned into something more, it would be a fantasy fulfilled! I'm witty, fun-loving, a great cook, love travel (bias toward Europe), and have done (and DO) my emotional, psychological, spiritual and financial "grown-up" work. I'm a skilful extrovert -- meaning I'm as interested in other interesting people as I am in myself. I enjoy LISTENING and learning as well as expressing. I'm only :too old" for shallow-minded guys who can't get past society's (and Gay-land's) unfortunate ageism. I know myself well: I'm brainy, artistic, affectionate and funny (including about my own "stuff") and in my body. Finally, in my world, "modesty," "guilt" and "shame" are WAY over-rated! Accomplishments:
Have "attacted a lifelong circle of golden friends -- male, female, ages from 20's to 90's. I'm a good friend who invests in his friends. In my book, this is truly a rich "success."

Have developed substantial skills relating with, and facilitating the growth of other people. I'm devoted to the "re-emergence" of myself and other people -- i.e., people around me tend to move towards the fullest possible expression of their true, loving, creative, funny, cooperative selves.

An expert writer in many venues -- from ghost-writing "inside others' skins" for many years, from natural talent, and from having lots to say in my own right.

I exhibit true "joie de vivre" -- loving companionship, food and wine, and many other joys of existence, which "simple" daily" activities are not "chores" but rather, a celebration of being here in this form, at this time.

A bright, affectionate, together gay man -- content with himself and with being out, but without left-over rebellious needs to be in people's faces about his gayness. Someone bright, "educated" (not necessarily meaning stacks of paper degrees, but rather, an attitude of loving the life of the mind); someone "artistic" (appreciates beauty and perhaps produces some in some form of his own). Is in good physical condition (HWP, active) and takes pride in how his face and body reflect his true, inner beauty. He's both emotionally available (shares his feelings), and yet most of the time, has achieved a light touch, even with his own (or with relationship) issues. My ideal soul mate would be a motorcyclist who'd relish going riding both together here and in Europe (or other locales) -- with our shared "desert" being the unfolding of true love.
