(Before you read further, I should mention something about my photo:  I no longer wear the goatee and mustache. )  I am someone who doesn't like to go with the majority; a contrarian, I guess.  I love the unique and unsual.  I love romance, but abhor mawkishness and sentiment.    I love variety, but don't care for sudden change.  I like moderate challenges I can handle with minimal stress and projects that are open-ended.  I tend to be the one who likes new ideas, but I am not an early adopter; I want things to work, and be user-friendly.  I don't have much respect for religion or superstition.  If you are the sort of person who takes ESP and astrology seriously, we are not going to get along.  I like to cook, read, ride my bike ( I would love to learn to ride a motorcycle), play games and watch movies.  I do a little swordfighting now and then, and a bit of dancing, though both clumsily.  I don't have much patience for either political correctness or fundamentalism.  I tend toward a Libertarian attitude. I live in Washington DC, and do not own a car; I travel strictly by Metro. 

I have endured a lot of obstacles in life:  child abuse, Attention Deficit Disorder, financial hardship, and some disasterous personal relationships.  I am currently still struggling, as an adult college student, trying to complete a degree.  Update: gave up college for now.  Now looking to work or volunteer somewhere supporting one of the causes I believe in.

Spunky but not bratty or bitchy.  Intelligent, optimistic without being unrealistic.  Capable of appreciating the finer things, but also capable of living without them on a daily basis.  Always learning, and willing to teach.  Willing to let the man in her life take the lead, and to be a true helpmate to him.  Completely without sexual inhibitions or hangups.  Capable of making a decision without consulting friends or family.  Definately a nonsmoker, healthy and fit.  Someone who reads something besides romance novels and People magazine.
