My philosophy is, you only go around once ... so enjoy every minute of it. I'm always looking for new things to do, new places to go. In May, I'm going to my first Buddhist retreat. Last year, I visited villages in Ecuador, and the year before that went on a nature cruise in SE Alaska. Wherever I go, I love the outdoors. Taking photos of wildlife is a hobby, and I take my dogs on outings to the beach, etc. I also enjoy music, both listening and playing. I have a couple of accordions and guitars and play with friends when I have the chance.
I've earned a living as a writer all my life. Now that I'm mostly retired from science/health writing, I work on my own projects, spending more and more time on photography and graphic arts. My grandchildren take up much of my time, too (three boys, ages 7, 6, and 3).
Since 2000, I've attended AA meetings regularly, where I've made many good friends. I have no moral views about alcohol ... I just know that my life is better without it. I've laughed more in the last five years than in the five decades before.
My accomplishments are that I'm a good enough writer to have made a living at it for over 40 years. I can play a few musical instruments enough to stumble along in jam sessions with friends. I'm an excellent photographer and a middling artist.
People tell me I'm attractive and look much younger than I am. They also tell me I'm amusing and fun to be with. I'm a great grandmother, too.
Smart, funny men appeal to me.
Education doesn't matter, as
long as a man is intelligent,
quick-witted and loves to
laugh.
I avoid men who are
politically conservative,
deeply involved with Christianity,
and into material things. Men
who enjoy the outdoors, feel
a kinship with animals, and
are kind to the environment
appeal to me. I like men who
relate to women, children and dogs
well, and who are kind and
compassionate. If a man enjoys
reading, that's a plus, but
it's not essential. What is
important is that the man gets a
kick out of life, can see the
funny side of things, and
knows how to be a friend.
