What makes me unique? Well, I don't really know that I AM that unique. In my teens and early twenties, I thought being different and standing out was the only way to express my individuality. But when I realized that I was expressing my individuality in the exact same way all the other rebellious kids were, it didn't seem so cool anymore. Now, I don't judge myself on my appearances (I'm not goth enough anymore...who cares?), or the music I listen to (I LIKE upbeat pop music...it's fun! Doesn't mean I can't still listen to Morrissey!), or how intellecutal my conversations are (it is impossible to have an intellecutal conversation about the Wiggles...).

As far as my looks go, I'd say I look like your average suburban soccer mom these days, what with all the khaki pedal-pushers I wear and the comfy shoes, but I still know how to pull out the va-va-voom when I need to!

Well, I haven't accomplished as much with my life so far as I have wanted to, in terms of academic success and financial success. But I have managed to get my parents talking to each other again (okay, the therapy helped...but that was my idea!!), even though they are still divorced. I've developed a close friendship with my brother. But most importantly of all, I've learned the patience and perserverance it takes to raise a child. I wasn't expecting to have kids without being married, but my child has really taught me to take the good in life where you can and hang the rest.

My ideal person would be someone who is enough like me that we can understand each other, but different enough so that we still find each other interesting. I value a strong sense of personal responsiblity, a laid-back sense of humor, a quick wit, keen intelligence and the ability to take life in stride, both the good and the bad.
