I’m a freshman at the
University of Kansas, currently
studying both Film and Pre-Medicine
(yeah, I know, they’re miles
apart, but I figure I’ll find a
way to make ‘em fit
together). I also recently enlisted in
the Army National Guard, so I
head to Basic Combat Training
in May as a Combat Medic,
although I’m a far cry from your
typical army boy. Up until a
few weeks ago, my hair was
actually pretty long and had been
for a long time…sadly, I had to
cut it before my first drill.
I was involved in theater all
through high school, with
some kind of role in every
production from freshman to senior
year, although I don’t really
do theater anymore.

I’m
really passionate about music –
any genre, just as long as it’s
good. Heh, I practically
always wore a pair of headphones
around my neck throughout my
senior year of high school. I
got a Technics SL-1210MK2
turntable for Christmas, on which I
play my (admittedly small, but
growing!) record collection.
Recently I’ve gotten really
into independent music, but I
listen to a broad range of
stuff, my recent favorites being
Ben Gibbard (i.e. Death Cab for
Cutie), Queens of the Stone
Age, Stars, The Mars Volta and
Bayside, among a vast array of
others.

I don’t play
videogames as consistently as I used
to, but I’ve played my fair
share of Halo, Guitar Hero (and
yes, World of Warcraft,
although I’ve since quit). While I
haven’t watched as many movies
recently as I should have
(especially for a film major),
I’m in love with films, with
favorites such as Desperado, Pulp
Fiction, Garden State, City
of God, and hundreds more. I
never really got into sports
until this year, but I enjoy
going to games (Rock Chalk
Jayhawk!). And I don’t really watch
much TV, although when I do, my
TV’s typically tuned to
Comedy Central, Discovery or The
Food Channel (What can I say? I
love Iron Chef.)
