I'm a shirt-tail out kinda gal who occasionally likes to shed the jeans in favour of dressing up for a night on the town. Sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes active, the best of both worlds. Housework gets put on hold when a friend or family ... shows up with an opportunity to share some time having fun together. If, when I go to my heavenly reward, there are dirty dishes in the sink, my inheritors can make the decision whether to wash them or throw them out. Either way, I'm not going to squawk.
You'll find me independent, open, honest, loyal, faithful, affectionate, a woman of her word who at times is passionately verbal about her beliefs. Travel is one of my favorite things in the whole world. Sharing a new experience of exploring historical places is exciting for me. I enjoy learning about practically anything new...love to watch the history channel, Discover, Nat'l Geographic on TV. Also, love 30's to 50's movies when the screen writing was tops. Going to the theatre to watch new releases is also fun. Outdoor sports like boating, camping, fishing, volleyball, walking my dogs, attending UK Wildcat Basketball or Football games, or rooting them on while watching televised games. Just being out in the sunshine soaking up rays, enjoying a fresh breeze, watching trees as they begin to bud in the spring, crunching new-fallen snow underfoot while being awed at the stillness are some of the best things to experience in life. Close relationships with family and friends take priority always. Cooking and baking for them, entertaining, thinking up some new practical joke or other that the gang will enjoy, playing card games or board games with everyone divided into teams after a good meal is the best way to enjoy a lively competitive evening.
My philosophy is:  Expect nothing, give all, accept appreciatively.

I am extremely proud of how my two sons grew up to be respectful, loving, and responsible human beings without the need for drugs or alcohol.
I am proud of the fact that my marriage with my late husband was nothing short of peaceful, fun, and satisfying to us both. It was in that relationship that I found out the meaning of security and trust, and the elated feeling of being loved...(loveable). It is also important to be able to give love and know that it is accepted and cherished. A marriage like this takes some self-discipline, acceptance and forgiveness, but it is well worth the effort it takes when you're with the right person.
At my graduation ceremony for nurse's training, I was second in the class of 32 people. As always when I make up my mind to do something, I work hard to perform to the best of my ability. My only regret is that I didn't decide to attend training sooner in life so I would have been more knowledgable about my mother's condition when she was fighting lymphoma that finally claimed her life. When my husband became ill he was concerned about the possibility of ending up in a nursing home. My training was invaluable in caring for him once he became bed-ridden and later in dealing with all the doctors and hospitals involved in his care. I am so thankful his fear of a nursing home placement was unrealized.

My partner must enjoy travel and attending University of KY Wildcat basketball and football games. He must at all times be respectful of me as a person as he can expect the same from me. He must understand that a gentleman keeps hands to himself while his new date takes time to determine whether she wants hands-on attention. Also, I like it to be known that I find terms of endearment from a stranger to be condescending and offensive. It is a good indication of phoniness. I'm too old to waste an evening trying to get to know someone who has made up his mind to stay unknowable. The most attractive thing to me when meeting a new guy is how easily he makes me laugh. Dirty jokes sure don't do it. I like a man who contributes ideas for activities for the two of us rather than leaving all the plans up to me...even if it is just to take a drive to a local state park and explore what it has to offer. My guy's actions must reflect an obvious sense of self-assurance. There is no place in a happy relationship for unprovoked jealousy or anger. I do not get jealous easily, nor am I quick to  anger. Also, I am not obsessively clingy. I hope my partner will feel unthreatened if I choose to spend a day with a girlfriend, or even take a day for myself to recharge my batteries. I often need time for myself to sort out my thoughts. I can also understand his needs for time to his own thing. I hope my new friend enjoys dancing, even if it is slow dancing. I love cruises...with their live shows, slot machines in the casino, exciting new ports of call, fine dining, and a glass of wine now and then. The right man will  find my love style affectionate, both verbally and physically; warm, open, tolerant, playful, passionate, lively, giving, loyal, and faithful. He will know that he is my number one priority when we are together. In turn, I want to feel I am interesting enough to hold his attention when we are in public.
