I'm going through a serious transitional period in my life - perhaps my 3rd Mid-Life Crisis. :) Another look back and another look forward to see what's undone and waiting for me in life. I was a very visible and prominent LGBT activist almost 15 years. I was consumed with my work and lacked balance in my life. Eventually, I "crashed and burned." I took two years off to rest and "take inventory." Working hard at getting that balance in my life again, but still dedicated and active in politics and social justice issues. I have been in two long-term relationships; one lasted 13 years, the other, 10. I'm the kinda guy who wants another guy in his life. At this juncture in my life, it would be a mistake to make another long-term commitment. But as I evolve and make some serious life changes, I still want to share it with a real good buddy - both in and out of bed.

I think this section will be a work in progress, but I'll give it a start. First thoughts: 1 - I have to be able to respect you. In my inventory of desired .attributes in another man, it is the most important. Respect for yourself will be an indicator of how you respect others. I want you to be someone I can be proud of being a part of your life. 2- It's important for me to be with a man who cares about the planet and the people who inhabit it. You don't have to be an activist  - just someone who cares and does what he can to insure others care.3 - You have to be authentic. I want to love a man "just the way he is." No pretences and no shaving if you're hairy (I hate nubs). If you're a naturally butch guy, that's great. But it has to be you - not a fake persona. Quiet masculinity and strength go along way, too. I hope to find a confident, non-assuming, assertive, independent man who will allow me to be the same. I hope you'll also be sensitive and compassionate. I hope your masculinity, assertiveness and confidence follow you to the bedroom.
