I am a widow after 41 years. I am financially independant with a good health insurance plan. I am easy going, well traveled having been to almost every state at least once, lived in the DC area 20 years, South America and Saudi Arabia. Traveled most of Europe via their wonderful rail system, a lot of the Orient Puerto Rico and the Carribean. I now live in a small town near my 3 children, 3 grandkids and 2 great grand daughters. Things I like to do include stained glass projects, gardening, cooking, reading, fishing and reality TV. not neccessarily in that order. I live a relatively quiet life with hardly a dull moment. My life motto is what goes around comes around sooner or later and I live my life with that thought. I don't do drugs, smoke or drink excessively. A glass of wine is nice. To make my day tell me the fish are biting or my great grand kids are on their way. Once in awhile I like to eat out. My chef Dad taught me to cook so I really like eating at home.I like estate sales and roadside junk shops. I own a stocked fish pond where I have been known to catch cat fish over 2 ft long. I just can't clean them. You clean,I cook. I like camping out on beautiful Arkansas lakes or Virginia mountains and beach combing on Alabama or Florida white sand beaches. But, my all time dream is to live in the country so I can watch the ducks and geese swim on the pond, gather my own eggs and listen to a few guinneas protecting their territory or frogs cry for rain in the twilight or doves cooing that everything will be alright as I sit on the patio with that special person with perhaps a glass of wine.
I believe I have said plenty already. I was told that my personality profile showed I have little ambition. At my age I have gone past that. My work is done and now is the time to reap the benefits of a productive past as it should be for all retired people. During my early years I stayed home and took care of my family. When they were teenagers I took a course in Cosmetology and never worked publicly at it. Later I got a real estate license and was licensed in DC , MD. and VA. I worked at that for 10 years. During that time I also took a course in Floral Design, opened a flower and gift shop. When I moved to La. I discovered I had to go back to real estate school because there is no reciprocity between the states I was licensed in and La. Also, to be a floral designer,La. requires that you pass a State Board exam and have Horticulture courses. Instead of going back to school I bought an old Victorian house and opened an upscale restaurant called The Gingerbread Inn.for a time.
That special person should be easy to be around, never controlling or confrontational, clean personal habits, not loud or vulgar. He should be kind, love little children and animals and like some of the things I do. He should be willing to help around the house and not expect to always be waited on-unless he is sick-and be self supporting as I would be. And by all means he should love to clean fish. That's a funny fellows. It would be nice if he liked to putter in the shop or dig in the dirt in the spring. He should be tolerant of the fact that I have children as I would be the same with him.
