I'm pretty unique - I know everybody says that. I've been a single mother for 17 yrs and have done a great job. My daughter is bright, a real good kid and despite the usual parent-teenager battles, we get along really well. She gives me a great deal of pride in many ways.
I'm strong but have my vulnerabilities; very self reliant when I have to be but prefer to be in a mutually reliant relationship. I take pride in myself and my home. I'm very handy with tools and know my way around Home Depot a little too well. There are always a few projects in progress. Demands may sometimes overwhelm me but they keeps me sharp and motivated.
I have a pretty good sense of who I am, and see my life as a journey, continual opportunities to learn something new. My pet peeve is inconsiderate, insensitive or mean spirited people. We all have times when we do or say unfortunate things. But the ability to admit it, apologize and move on is a mark of character.
I love to travel, have done a fair amount. Trips are always an adventure, adventures are sometimes a surprise.
Forrest Gump's "box of chocolates" is my guiding principle. Which reminds me, I love good chocolate.
How do you write this part without a lot of "I's"?
I've accomplished quite a lot and I attribute much of that to resourcefulness and willingness to take risks. Some would describe me as independent, but I prefer self-reliant. While I've gotten pretty far alone, it would have been much more fun with a man who is not intimidated by a woman who is can take care of herself if needed.
I have an MBA but I've learned the most from raising my daughter. I believe that life is a continuous learning process and for me knowledge comes from experiences rather than books. My career has been rewarding, but does not ruled my life. I have a good corporate job from which I can comfortably retire. I've earned respect from some; the rest don't matter. It's been important for me to keep a balanced perspective and not sacrifice the things that are really important.
I've travelled to Italy, France, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Lux, Switz, Austria, PR, CO, UT, NV, Caribbean and Mexico several times. There are many more places to see.
Most important, though is what I've achieved in terms of the person I am. I'm not perfect, but I'm pretty good. There's always room for growth. A lot of how I live is based in attitude. I've tried a couple of different ones and found that a positive outlook usually works best. It's not always easy to remember that, but it often proves true.
You have a great sense of humor and can strike a good balance between positive outlook and reality. Open communication is really important, with a balance between internalizing everything and too much information.
Moderately active. We should share some interests, but you also have some of your own. In a
relationship, you are equally comfortable with giving and receiving affection.
You are comfortable with your appearance, whatever it may be. You take care of yourself and it shows. You prefer a casual lifestyle, enjoy the comforts of home, travel, cats and family, not necessarily in that order.
You still have goals you're striving toward, but not obsessed by anything. You're a good person and you like who you are. You enjoy being with other people - family, friends, me, and also have your time for yourself. You can look back on your past mistakes and learn from them.
them. You can take pride in your accomplishments and have enough self confidence to acknowledge accomplishments of others.
I'd love to meet someone who shares my sense of adventure and would like to explore new
places as well as share some of your old favorites with me.
