I was born in Mississippi, and spent my formative years there and in Georgia. Moved to West Texas at age 13, but have always considered my roots  still in the "Deep South". There's just not enough trees here to suit me. I have two beautiful, very independent daughters that live in New York & the Boston area. One is a writer and one a singer. I also have a 16 year old son, and although he's a very good kid, he's still driving me CRAZY!  I have always enjoyed meeting new people and making new friends. I am a very open, sincere , honest person who likes to laugh a lot and expect the same in return. I'm also a very creative person, I love old houses, music and old stuff.  I like most kinds of music with the 50's, 60's, &70's being my favourite. I love to go out with friends and listen to live music and I love to dance. I also enjoy travelling to new places.

I guess I would have to say that the accomplishment I'm the most proud of is the closeness and love that I have with my kids. Oh yeah, I played in a Texas Country & Western band for many years. Not as a singer, I'm a drummer. I can't sing a lick, but I can sure beat the hell out of the drums!

  I feel like that I have reached the point in my life where I'm not looking for someone that can make me happy. I'm already happy with myself. But, I am looking for someone who I can be happy with. You know, 50 is a GREAT age. Our kids are grown, or almost, most of us know what we want and what we don't want, hopefully we've learned from out past mistakes, and we are starting to plan out our remaining years. I've always believed that there is a "soul mate" out there for me somewhere. I've done my share of the dating "game", and it all seems kind of shallow. I believe that we are all basically looking for the same things, but some people have a harder time than others with expressing their needs. I'm looking for, (you guys better sit down for this one),  "unconditional love". I want to share my life with someone who is not only my best friend, but someone who also wants to share his life with me. Someone who really cares about me and what matters to me, and the same with me for him.  It goes without saying that there should be mutual attraction, the same belief in God and at least some interests in common. One of the reasons that I have chosen this venue is because I like to get to know someone rather slowly. I feel that sometimes people are more comfortable talking about their feelings and what they want out of life on paper (or, in this case, email) than in person or even on the phone. At least at first anyway. I've had guys ask me for my phone number in the first "Wink". Please guys, if you're just looking for someone to hook-up with cause you're bored, please bypass me. I'm not looking for anymore causal dating. And I'm not looking for someone to just "sleep" with. I sleep just fine.
