I believe that I am a caring, compassionate person who is now free to do whatever I choose in life. I retired l-l/2 yrs. ago and am enjoying my retirement. What would make it better would be to find a mate to enjoy life with. I was a counselor for many years and from that experience, I am a woman who is open and honest and need that in my relationships with both men and women. I enjoy reading, movies, theater, dining out, watching football and spending time with my grandson who is the "love of my life." He is physically disabled, but as sharp as a tack mentally. My son has a successful business in the area. I have several friends whom I enjoy spending time with, but also enjoy my alone time. What probaly makes me unique is that I was a jazz singer many years ago and have loved this music since I was 15 yrs. old. I have quite an extensive CD collection. My friends tell me that I am a lot of fun and they enjoy spending time with me. I am quite upbeat most of the time. Integrity is very important to me, and I strive to have this trait and look for it in others.
Do to the work I did, people do turn to me to discuss their problems and ask for advice. I don't pretend to have all of the answers, but it is nice that people trust me. I was very successful in my job, and worked my way to the top at our facility. However, I don't miss work at all and never try to counsel my family or friends unless they ask me to. I also have been very active on a committee to raise funds for a camp for disabled kids. Of course I have a personal interest in this, but our campaign has been very successful for all disabled children. I believe that I am a good mother and grandmother and also a good friend. I have been told by many that I am a good listener.
I have mentioned some important characteristics already, but my ideal soul mate would have a good sense of humour, be kind and understanding.; quite easy going and have a positive outlook on life. Good communication skills are also very important. I would like someone who is nice looking and neat. Also, it would be fun to find someone who is interested in trying new things and traveling a little. There must be someone out there who fits this description.
