Hi, I'm Donna. I'm the self-employed mother of a vivacious three year old girl and three naughty dogs. I have lived in many places, but have always been drawn back to the hills, water and rocks of Duluth. If I weren't working my be-hind off all the time, I would enjoy camping, hiking, travelling, exploring, dancing, movies, reading, writing, learning, laughing, loving....... I'll try just about anything and will usually find something enjoyable about it. But, as I said, I spend a lot of time working very hard, so my "what I do for fun" list is more or less hypothetical. Online (and hopefully real life) dating is step one in my campaign to get a life. Cart before the horse? - perhaps. I am ardently liberal in my politics and am ironically intolerant of conservatives (that was a joke :o) - I can take pretty much everyone where they are at. I have heard that being a single mother is the kiss of death in the online dating world. Be that as it may, I will not hide the fact that I am crazy in love with my daughter and her well being guides every choice I make. Being a mother has made me a better person. Knowing my every move is being soaked in by her little mind and soul has forced me to be more authentic and true to myself - to be the person I want her to believe I am. That being said, this adventure in dating is for me, not my daughter. I am looking for someone to be a grown-up with. I want to relax and have fun with someone who can take care of himself. I have a bit of an independent streak so I'd like to meet someone who can appreciate that in a woman. It wouldn't hurt if he were the big, cuddly type too, but I am open on this point. I am most proud of my daughter and my business.My daughter is the love of my life and even though she can be a stinker sometimes, I am proud of the way I am raising her.  She really knows how to speak up for herself, but is equally able to consider other people's feelings - no small task for a three year old.I am proud of the business I have built which allows me to be with my child most of the time while still providing for all of our needs without any outside support.  It has taken a great deal of hard work and perseverance to get where I'm at and, of course, I am stronger for it.

I'd like to meet a good man. - someone who is kind, hard-working and sincere.  For me, a sense of humour, a positive outlook, an open mind, and intelligence are also important qualities in a match.The man I meet needs to be comfortable with my independent streak.  He'll need  to be willing to give me some space every now and then and I will happily do the same for him. We don't necessarily need to share the same interests.  In fact I think one of the great things about meeting someone new is learning new things from each other,  and exploring the world from a new perspective.Looks aren't very important to me, although I do find the Drew Carey type to be pretty cute. Still, I won't rule anyone out just because they don't share Drew's "look" ;o).
