what makes me, me? well, i like being active, both physically and mentally. i like learning new things, trying new things, hiking, biking, tennis. there tons of things i'd like to try: rock climbing, wind surfing, scuba diving, sky diving... the list goes on. i listen to lots of pod casts: this american life, the moth, dan savage, radio lab, big ideas and some recorded books... i read too, just not as much lately - i can listen to pod casts while i work (a lot of times) -- i'm a carpenter but, do a lot of painting and tile work.

i do smoke but, don't like it - hate it in fact. and, i'm trying to quit (again). i've quit for years at a time. it's a filthy habit. not that i judge smokers... i just know i need to, want to stop.

i love good food! i love to cook; try new foods, cook things i've never cooked, even create something new. i like good wine and know a little about wine - not a lot. i love to watch or help someone cook who knows what he/she's doing - and doesn't mind teaching. i'm not but, wouldn't mind being... a vegetarian. . . hope that doesn't turn off too many midwesterers - i'm originally from Oregon/California.

hmm... i've built homes from start to finish. i've bicycled from Indiana to Oregon. i've trained dogs. worked in a daycare - and loved it. i'm a visual artist (tho not lately). i'm a fixer and problem solver- usually for other people... not so good with/for myself - but, working on it.
i tried college 3 different times - it just wasn't for me. - wait, that's not an accomplishment... or is it? - self discovery, maybe?
i traveled all over Europe - tho it was 20 years ago.
i had an out of body experience at age 11 - and began, in my own way, debunking the notion of an all seeing, knowing, powerful, singular God soon after.

BALANCE. that above anything. we should balance each other. We needn't like and want to do all the same things - just some; enough things. We should have our own interests, pursuits. our friends/family should like who we've chosen - my friends/family should like you and, yours me. i do have a thing for skinny, nerdy guys but, it's not important. Not into fat guys tho, sorry. to me it indicates a lack of self-respect. i'd like someone around my age 5 or 6 years younger or up to 10 years older. i think a person should know what they think, feel and what motivates their actions.
