In my own words...well, I'm an unemployed licensed English teacher who is trying to change careers to what I've always wanted to be...an artist. My Spirituality is very important to me...I will divulge more if asked. I am a person who is looking for a partner in life, someone to walk alongside me on this path we all take. You will find I have a good sense of humor and love doing things on the spur of the moment (if I can). I LOVE travel by vehicle...I like seeing the countryside and having my feet flat on the ground, so to speak. I can fly on planes, but prefer to drive. I really love to dance and enjoy many types of music, although classical and jazz are not among my favorites.
Accomplisments. Well, I've been on my own since I was 16, got my GED and went into the Army and was Honorably Discharged. I received a Certificate of Achievement, and while I was a civilian employee for the military, I worked during Hurricane Iwa emergency services and received a $500 award and a Certificate of Appreciation. I have a four-year college degree that I'm not using professionally; I made Dean's List five quarters in a row (straight As). I have successfully raised two children who are now 22 & 18. They are good people, the younger being more of a challenge, of course. I am a good artist whose works are going into the local gallery and hopefully, someday, online as well. Previous to this attempt to become a professional artist, I have given all my works away, so this is something very new to me. I am very good with teenagers...they flock around me like the pied piper. Sometimes my 18 year-old gets upset because his friends talk to me more than they do him, hehe. I think this is because I am a very young-minded person who isn't afraid to show kids that adults make mistakes, that the important thing is figuring out the "next step" to take. I am not afraid to apologize if I have made a mistake or unintentionally hurt someone, and I'm honest to the point of it being a detriment to myself...I can really shoot my own foot off quite well. Well, I suppose by now you have realized that I'm a pretty open person...so I will stop now.
I'm looking for a smile in my life, someone who wants to share the ups and downs and laugh our way through it all. Someone who understands what a union between two people is and what it means, not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well will certainly catch my attention, and most likely, affection as well.
