music geek does a soul seek
I am yet another soul trying to get a foothold on this cliff called life and perhaps find a companion along the way. There is no simple path or answer. Just possibilities and choices that must be made. As for what I do, I'm a starving artist of a technical type: a recording engineer not in the employ of some multi-million-dollar studio in NY, LA, or Nashville. Music is my passion, especially the crazy, wild, sexy, and beautiful sounds you will hardly hear on a commercial radio station. Capturing and enhancing said aural pleasures is what I live for. Oh yeah, and I work at a sub shop. Luxurious, huh? I'm the kind of guy who's up for whatever seems like a fun thing at the time. Sometimes it might be going to watch a band play, or getting involved in some absurd, harebrained art project, or even just walking around the city or admiring the landscape. Whatever's right for the moment. I can also vacillate between being the stoic and the court jester, sometimes in the same minute. It sometimes takes me a little bit to warm up to someone, and the same amount of time for the other person to get a hold on me. I'm a Virgo, and Gemini, Cancer, and Libra figure prominently in my astrological chart, after all. If I think you're cool, though, you'll know it soon enough, and I'll show it in multiple ways. Lets meet up in the real world, shall we?
Oh we get to brag now, do we? Ok. You asked for it! After getting a Bachelor of Arts Degree at Guilford College, I went down to study recording at Full Sail in Winter Park, FL. I graduated near the top of my class got certified for Pro Tools, and have before and since been recording and mastering albums for bands in the Greensboro area. One of the albums, by an awesome band called Manamid, got a positive review in Triad Style (wooh!). I've also done remix work for a rising band called The Kudzu Wish, who I go waaay back with, maaann! I've met Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips, interviewed Ween (didn't turn out well). I also rock at video games;)
Yeah, there's that thing called chemistry, and it can either reinforce or cancel out what is said on paper, but let's have a go. Basically, I am interested in meeting an intelligent, open-minded, and unconventional/quirky gal with a wicked sense of humor and some semblance of taste in music, film, art, literature, video games, or something that it's possible to have taste in. Her tastes don't exactly have to match mine, but she should be coming from somewhere interesting on that end. Extra points to musicians, music freaks, and computer geeks. If she's got some unique aura about her, that makes her even cooler. Spontaneity is important as well. As far as appearance goes, I'm pretty open (albeit leaning towards the unique) , but I'm an absolute sucker for beautiful eyes and a mouth with character. Glammy, punked up, and classy styles get me going, but like I said, I'm open. It's style and the person who's got it, not a uniform.
