I've been a lot of places, and
done a lot of things. I've
lived all of the US and several
places in Europe, and have
travelled all over the world. I
was in the Army for 10 years,
I've been an international
courier, a janitor, a security
consultant, a mediator, an
administrative manager, a teacher,
a protective services driver,
a firearms instructor, a
summer camp counsellor, a crew
rowing instructor, a candidate
for Congress, and many others.
I read voraciously, I've
attended college in Germany,
Alabama, and North Carolina, and
have studied History, Philosophy,
Economics, Classical Studies,
Praxeology, Medieval and
Renaissance Studies, Literature,
and Languages. I am an amateur
gun smith, blacksmith, and
carpenter. I enjoy cooking
(especially baking and grilling),
camping, hiking, driving, and
boating. I like animals and
children, but don't have any of
my own. I want to learn
machining, so I gave up a job as
assistant director for
administration that paid quite well,
in order to take a
manufacturing job that pays enough--and
gets me on track to learn to be
a machinist. Someday I plan
to open my own bookstore. I'm
a pretty calm, laid back, and
relaxed sort of guy. I've
sworn off news (TV or otherwise)
for the past few years, as it
just pisses me off to no good
purpose. So politics and
current events are probably not
safe topics of conversation,
unless you're a Libertarian or
Anarcho-Capitalist. Everything
else is cool :)

I'm looking for an intelligent, independent, emotionally mature, and rational woman. Someone who isn't into drama, who doesn't expect me to "fix" her life. A woman who is comfortable with herself and her life, or if not, who knows what she wants and takes the reponsibility for achieving what she wants. I'd like a long-term relationship, but I'm not in a hurry, and I'd be happy to make some friends if things don't click romantically. I'm too old, to proud, and too tired to try to hop into bed with every woman I meet, so (and I know it's pointless to say this, but nonetheless) you don't have to worry about me trying for a quick and easy one night stand.
