I'm a kind, generous-to-a fault type of person who loves animals and nature in general. I love to golf and flower/water garden. I take care of several cats that have come to me as strays or were born to strays and although it's a lot to take care of them, they're happy, healthy and not stuck in a cage somewhere. I believe in integrity and honesty, communication and sensitivity. I am independent and can fend for myself quite well, but would love to be in love again; to find someone who has similar values and interests. I am a spiritual person, though not necessarily church-going at this point. I have a strong belief in God and that grounds me.    I am on a constant quest to better myself in any way I can; a work in progress, so to speak. I am a dedicated teacher of elementary kids and they keep me young at heart.

I was at one time, before knee and hip surgeries, a very good athlete for many years. My proudest accomplishment was winning the National Championship in the javelin throw in 1968 and participating in the Olympic Trials that same year.    My current success revolves around a juggling program that I have started at my elementary school where I teach physical education. It's the best thing I've ever been part of and I believe it's improved the lives of many of my students. I love my job and the kids I teach and every day that I can influence them in a positive way is a nice reward. We all have teachers that we look back on as having changed our lives...I hope to be one of those for some of my students!

I'd like to meet someone who has similar interests and values as me. We all have baggage from the past, but hopefully we learn from it. I want to be in a relationship with someone who will take equal responsibility for things. I am done with "care-taking" and being responsible for everyone else.
