I am basically an optimist. The most important thing to me personally, is to be able to provide myself with the security and stability in life that I used to seek from a man. I'm still working on myself and my life and probably always will be until the struggle is over. I don't see that as being discontent. It's just that I'm goal oriented. I also appreciate the beauty in life and love to find excuses to take a break. I don't get many of those excuses, though. My pets and my needlework are important parts of my life as is my home and of course, my adult children.

I guess my most notable accomplishment is having given birth to and raised 3 really good kids. My next best accomplishment is that I haven't given up on my education, having received my second associates degree only 5 years ago at the tender age of 49. Still planning on a bachelor's degree in the next 5-10 years! I survived a bad 25 year marriage and my kids still turned out well. Now I'd like to do more than just survive. It's time to have a little enjoyment.

I would like to meet a man who was honest and not only when it's hurtful. Communication is extremely important to me and I feel an integral part of any kind of relationship. I would like to be able to know that I had a friend as well as a lover in a man. I would like to meet a man who is capable of understanding other people's feelings. Humor is good, a lot of sarcasm is not so good. Liking animals is very good especially understanding my need to provide for my own pets. And as independent as I strive to be, it would be nice to have a shoulder to lean on once in awhile. Sometimes life throws curve balls and it's hard to handle it alone.
