I am always so frustrated when I am filling these out.  It's like standardized testing; it never quite gets it right.But I'll try anyway.I am 26 years old, and I am writer.  I am currently studying for my MFA in Creative Writing at a local university.  Because of this, books are very important to me.  I would hope that my partner would enjoy reading as well.  As you might think, I like relaxed environments.  I mostly commonly go to movies and museums.  I also love just walking around the city.I am very close to my family and friends, and I would hope that my partner could love them as much as I do.I also have a dog, who is the greatest comfort to me on a daily basis.  I love her madly, and I would want other people in my life who could also enjoy her company.I am generally politically motivated, but I am not too rigid.  I am exceptionally liberal (really, I am a socialist of sorts).I think I tend to overwrite these things, so I would be happy to answer any questions you might have.

My accomplishments.... this seems very much like a self-congratulatory field, but here goes.I am most proud of the fact that I have managed to keep following the goals I have--even when it has been difficult.  I am happy to say that I moved here to New York little more than a year ago, and I have managed to fall right into my place in my MFA program.  I begin teaching next fall, which is really the most exciting thing to me.  I think education is the most important thing we can strive for, and the idea of helping students gain knowledge makes me feel like I am contributing something to the world.Generally, I am just proud to be who I am and to know the people I know.  They are great folks, and I am lucky to know them.

I am basically looking for someone who is done with the party scene.  I want a partner who is settled in herself.  She should know who she is and what she wants.  I tend to be attracted to women who are slightly older than me; though, I am interested more in someone who suits my personality.  I like patience.  And I like someone who commits strongly but not too quickly.  I like to take my time getting to know someone, and I hope my partner does too.I would like a parter who cares about politics and culture but knows that sometimes something low-brow can be just as enlightening (or just fun!) as something more elitist.I like women who live in both worlds.
