I've been a single mom for...well, forever.  Actually, my daughter is 8, so it has only been 8 years.  Though this is part of my life which I mention first -- because it's the most important -- it is not what makes me entirely.  There's so much more and it is only recently that I can devote more time to the myriad facets.  I'll go into accomplishments in the "brag" section below.  But, to paint a picture of the pieces that come together to describe me I can tell you that I run my own consultancy;  I have recently renovated a 100 year old house which continues to be a manageable and fun project; I love cycling and try to do as many long distance rides as I can in the warm season; I make time for humor, studying improvisational comedy and even performing; I enjoy the intimacy of friendships -- playful or insightful talk over good food or putting together a gathering nice people.  It's a good life...I'm happy.  And, I know that everything can take on a "glow" when you share it with someone special and even expand your own life when you discover a new person.  I'm ready.

I've published a non-fiction book which was on a top 10 best selling list in it's genre.I've done at least 4 "centuries" -- these are bike rides of 100 miles.I graduated 6th in my college class.I am listed in quite a number of Who's Whos.I renovated, singlehandedly, a very sorry 100 year old house.I am a member of an improv troupe.I've successfully run my own business for over 12 years.

I've heard it said that the mind is a sex organ.  I think when people have a meeting of the minds, magic can happen.  What, you ask, would intrigue me?  First off, humor.  I appreciate someone who sees the comedy in the ordinary.  This does not mean vapid.  Actuallly, I think you have to be pretty smart to "see" things differently...which leads me to the second big turn on.  Thoughtfulness.  Not only in being able to see things from another's point of view, but to really be able to think things through -- to see nuance & detail; to reason both inductively and deductively.  Sounding like a fun date yet?  Well, how about we take your great mind and good humor and do something exploratory?  Not bungee jumping!  But, exploring something new, whether it be a park, unusual exhibit, performance art, learning how to salsa or paint by numbers or cook Chinese food.  And last, but not least, how about the courage to communicate?  It may feel like it is better to not say something at all or to withold something that may make for momentary discomfort.  But, in the long run, relationships become really good when both people learn how to navigate the truth.
