First....I am not from New York. I live in the Bronx City,New York with fantasies about living just about anywhere in the US.
Second... I am a single dad raising a child in grade school who needs me more than I need a relationship. I think many of you have been in the same position and know what I am talking about. At the end of the day it is more important that I do a great job as a father and parent than it is for me to fulfill my need to have a partner. I know that sounds like I am not available and I guess I am not available to anyone who doesn't get it.I don't know exactly what I'm looking for but I think I'll know when I find it. Friendship usually happens spontaneously.I'm very hard working and consequently I have found reasonable success easily and while I like to continue to carry the load going forward it would be nice if the load wasn't t.... We don't necessarily know what we like but we do like what we like and there is no getting around it. One other word on that...I am picky as to looks and will only be interested in people who are fit and know how to take care of themselves. If you are out of shape then do something about it. I know it is a struggle but it is worth it. I probably should but probably won't fall in love with you just because you are nice and of good character.I have had several adult relationships and I am a one woman guy when I find the right one. I do have regrets about the lost opportunities with the good women who were interested in me that I have chosen not to pursue. I am currently in the frame of mind of not being with anyone who is not the right one. I need the whole package and if that makes me shallow then I am shallow.I do know that the quickest way to destroy a relationship is to smother it so it won't bother me in the slightest if you have aspects of your own life which you aren't interested in having me take part. I'm educated, thoughtful, intelligent and curious and very funny. I am well read and have devoured in depth the history of our nation and to a lesser extent the world. I am an expert in the life and times of Lincoln and have read a couple dozen books about the interaction of Europeans and native North Americans and the tragedy that ensued. I have been a leader in every enterprise I have ever been involved in and recognized as a straight forward guy for any problem. About you. You should be realistic and recognize what kind of guy I am and what kind of challenge that represents.
