Adventurous Optimist looking for Companionship

About Me

What is there to say about me? Well, mostly its important to know that i am a very spontaneous person. I don't care to plan things out with extensive detail. I make things happen for myself, and confront challenges as they arise. I do not let fear rule my life, and I don't have to have a perfect plan to take a risk. I tend to be disorganised and messy. That can be a big problem for some people. So, I would want anyone who could potential spend a lot of time with me to be aware of that. I am mostly a confident, outspoken individual who appreciates off color humor. I have two dogs, Violet and Picasso, who are basically like children to me. I like to take them with me most places, and the inside of my Jeep is generally full of mud due to that. We are a hiking, naturalist type family and try to spend as much time in the woods as possible. Speaking of naturalist, one of my favorite activities is CAMPING. I like rustic camping. Camping in a 'parking lot' with other campers 10 feet away sucks. I don't mind pissing in the woods, sawing firewood, cooking over a fire or sleeping in a tent in a down pour. I love to canoe and kayak. Because I'm overweight sometimes massive mountain hiking is not appealing to me, but it just depends on my mood at the time. I've climbed a few mountains in my day. When I was 22 I went on a four month long road trip across America with my best girlfriend. We drove a Suburban with an Amish made matress, specially made to fit in the back, and camped the whole time. When camp site was not available, we slept in the Suburban. It was the most amazing experience of my life and I would not take it back for anything. I have been to most of the States, and have traveled in Europe as well. Next on my agenda is most likely Costa Rica. But, I'm working on getting out of debt, so I probably won't be taking a big, expensive vacation again for awhile. What else? I have a BA in P

I think I've already talked about my accomplishments. I am educated. I have a decent job working for County Government. I have traveled the world, and met a lot of different types of people. I have spent a lot of time introspecting and learning who I am. I feel that I know who I am. That is a big accomplishment in this day and age.

Who I'd Like To Meet

Well, first off, looks are not that important to me. I'd prefer not to date someone who resembles an ogre or anything, but I'm really not a shallow person and know full well that exterior looks don't mean much. I am laid back, so I am looking for a friend who can just chill out and handles problems with ease. We all get stressed from time to time, but a good crisis management is important. As stated in the profile above I love traveling and I am looking for an individual who wants to see as much in this world as I do. A love for nature and outdoor activities is important, as is the tolerance of my dogs. They are not poorly behaved dogs, but they do require a lot of attention and they are a significant part of my life. When given the ultimatum of choosing between the dogs or past boyfriends, I have chosen the dogs. A good match for me would never want me to get rid of them. I tend to be quite spiritual. I am a Protestant Christian and have some major beefs with the Catholic Church. I have dated a Catholic in the past and that caused way more complications than I ever imagined. So, I really don't want to date any more Catholics. I am not a devout Christian. I do not attend church regularly, and I have a Christianity all my own. I do not think the Bible is infallible and I like to incorporate principles from other religions into my beliefs. I pray. I have faith. But, I don't necessarily think Christianity is the one and only way to God. Some, of course, say that means I'm not really a Christian, but whatever. Spirituality is a highly personal choice. I don't expect a partner to believe exactly as I do. I just expect us to be able to be okay with each other's beliefs. But, enough about that. I have dated alto of men who don't seem to hold a job for very long. So, as I'm becoming a bonafide adult and am holding my own job and working on my career Id also like to meet someone who has steady work. The
