Thirty two years and one day ago, I was born in a small hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Growing up, my claim to fame was that my baby picture was aired on one of the local noon news broadcasts, and so a star was born. I did not have a normal childhood. And, true, whats normal these days? Suffice it to say here, it was painful. Try growing up gay in Indiana, then try growing up gay with abusive parents. Reading was my salvation. I read and read and read. My favorate memories are reading The Fellowship of the Ring during the summer before I went into seventh grade. I didn't have a book light, so I used one of those old lite brites to read by under the covers--and luckily never started a fire. In high school, I got involved in theater. And it helped my self esteem quite a lot. For a time, I wanted to be an actor. What I did find, though, what's lasted the longest, is my desire to tell stories. So, I moved to playwriting. I've had some small successes, and, at least according to my psychic, there are bigger ones coming. I tend to believe her.

I've been writing plays since my debut in the 2nd grade with his adaptation of "Three Billy Goats Gruff," followed by my rendition of the stamp act for the fifth grade stamp club. In 2001, I earned my MFA in playwriting at Rutgers University in New Jersey. My short plays have appeared at Love Creek Productions as well as NativeAliens Theater Collective and the prestigious Samuel French Short Play Festival in 2000 and 2001.
