Economics, politics international, philosophy, theology, history, social theory, movies -- there are lots of things to talk about, with good wine or at a restaurant with a upscale menu. I used to like travel a lot, but that requires two people who provide enjoyable company for each other for not just hours but days.
I have written a couple books and edited a couple others. My students say I am a great teacher, with a sense of humor. I usually have two bottles of wine open at a time so I can do comparative tasting, while I read the New York Review of Books or the New Republic.
A well-informed and thoughtful person, with an active sense of humor balanced by a sense of openness and compassion towards others rings my bells.
