Hi my ... is Ricky. I am single and live alone.  I moved to where I live to be closer to my daughter.  I am very introspective. I like to think and converse on many subjects.  I consider myself to be "laid-back" .  I dont like to get in a hurry for anything.  But that does'nt mean I am not punctual.  I hate to be late for anything. 
I like to listen to music.  But I do not listen to country and western, rap or hip-hop.  I prefer to listen to good old classic rock&roll, jazz, new age and classical music.  I like to watch movies, especially classics.  I like to cook and my favorite cuisines are southwestern, mexican, chinese, mid-eastern/indian and italion.
I love conversation.  I like to laugh and consider myself a witty person.  I like quiet nights on the couch just watching a movie and enjoying the company that is with me.
I like the work that I do, although it is not technical, it is engaging.
I am a deep thinker and I try to understand the world that is around us.  We (humans) are astounding creatures.  But we spend too much time on frivolous things.  I am no different.  I probably watch too much TV and spend too much time on the Internet.  But, that is where I get information about the world we live on.

I was awarded the Employee's Excellence Award at Texas Instruments in 1995.  This is a very prestigious award, as it is voted on by the people you work with.  I feel very honored to have recieved this award. 
I went to nursing school to become a registerd nurse.  I was in my third semester when I suffered a near fatal brain illness called viral encephalitus.  I was not able to finish my education, but I worked in healthcare until 2005.  I carry my education with me 'til this day.  I worked primarily in emergency medicine and that is my love.  To help heal an injured or sick person is the most gratifying thing I have ever done in my life.
