Carpe deim - seize the day - is my attitude about "living the good life" - that is, I believe living each day to the fullest. Whether teaching college classes, playing tennis, having a candlelit meal with someone special, going to a concert, or watching the stars at night I try to be fully present to life and the opportunities each day brings. Laughter and quiet reflection are the bookends of that experience. I am strong hearted individual with a vision and determination to provide for the ones I love (family) and contribute substantively to my community.
Occupationally, I am a college professor and a professional musician. In the past six months I have helped raise money for organizations which benefit children and youth, completed two CDs, and begun work on doctoral program to further advance my professional goals.
In relationships, I do not have a detailed list of the "woman of my dreams" - such preconditions and restrictions I believe can be obstacles to seeing and delighting in the individual I want to get to know; surprise is one of the wonderful gifts of budding new relationships. The character traits I most value are honesty, kindness, affection, and a healthy sense of humor. I do not welcome people who are harshly judgmental or cruel.
