Quiet, intelligent guy seeking
someone fun and lively.
My name is David, I'm a grad student in mechanical engineering at Penn State.
I tend to be rather quiet and reserved until I get to know people better (which tends to take me a while), but once I get to know someone I enjoy goofing off a bit. It generally takes me a while to make friends, but once I'm friends with someone I'm willing to do just about anything for them. There is little I enjoy more than just hanging out with my friends.
My Christianity is very important to me and I was saved at a young age. I regularly attend a Baptist church here in SC and am involved with a campus organization called new life.
I've really enjoyed reading ever since my dad read Dr. Doolittle to my sister and me when I was around 3 or 4 years old. I love being able to transport myself into an entire other reality and explore life as another person. I usually like fantasy and science fiction best, but I've been known to be absorbed my a good mystery novel or historical fiction too.
I've been playing soccer since I was about 7. Unfortunately I didn't get to play much in highschool since I was homeschooled or in college since engineering commandeereed too much of my time. I also really enjoy sand volleyball and racquetball.
I come from a large family - I'm the oldest of 8 children and family is very important to me. Eventually I definitely want to have a few kids of my own. Probably not 8 of them, but you never know what God will bring.
I'm always up for making a new friend, though as I said it takes me a while because of my natural reserve.
I'm at the point that I want to seriously start looking for that special person with whom I can settle down and spend the rest of my life. I have this image of the "perfect girl" in my head, but I know that finding such a person is nigh impossible. However, here's a bit of what I have in mind:
First of all, she needs to be a committed Christian. Someone who will challenge me to continue to grow.
I'd like her to be outgoing to help me not be so much of an introvert.
I want her to be kind, patient, and loving.
The old saying that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach definitely holds true for me.
I'd like a girl who wants to be a mother and isn't too concerned about having her own career. My own mother hasn't ever had a career or even worked much at all since I was born and I want my own children to someday have what I had.
I'm a sucker for a girl who has a good voice and loves to sing.
I could go on, but these are mostly just loose guidelines.
Please send me a message if you think we might do well together.
