why don't people meet like they did in old movies anymore?

Um....I'm a pretty laid back kinda chick. I kinda laze about right now but I'm game for trying a few things. Provided they're not terribly life-threatening. But if they're stupid, well, I usually try not to turn it down, but I do (unfortunately) tend to be the one to worry about the consequences/injuries/etc. I'm sorry, I just paid too much attention to my parents' lessons on how to be the voice of reason. And then I went to school and on occasion I HAD to be that person. And now that I'm home, when I go out with my friends, I usually AM that person. *sigh* It's my terribly-unfort unate-not-the-k inda-person-I'd -prefer-to-be cross to bear. Apparently. Shoot.

I was an English Major in school. Numbers/Mathematics/Science makes me nervous. If only because I'm not very quick with the logical things as I am with the illogical/emotional/artistic. Not to say that I'm illogical. If you pose a ridiculous question, I will most likely attack it in a logical way, I'd just prefer it be ridiculous. I like ridiculous. I try to make sure I have a daily dose. It's way more important than vitamins.

I work in secondary education as a para-professional/educator. I basically follow a kid around class to class all year. It's kinda awesome in that I get to relearn stuff I've forgotten in the past...um...6+ years and I get to experience that "omg I KNOW this!" moment. I also get to try to help the other kids (not just mine) learn things in new ways. I wrote a rap (terrible terrible rap. I'm a white chick, I don't rap well) on the rock cycle. I am that cool.

I get the summer off but I don't get a paycheck. So don't tell me I'm lucky. I could really use the money. I'd like to move out someday. Or maybe buy a new car. Except not, cause Lucas is my baby, even if he is old (shut up - I named my car. My sweet little 98 Escort).

I like to draw a little, but I wouldn't say I'm very good at it. Passable. Decent, perhaps, when you realize I never took an art class beyond the eighth grade.

I've done a few things I'm proud of, so ask me and I will probably tell you.

Describing your soul mate is a tall order, in my opinion. I mean, you may think you know what you want but maybe what you need and end up getting is something totally different. I try to keep as open a mind as possible. I'm pretty laid back about things but two major traits or deal-breaker aspects I have been pressed to indicate are as follows: 1. You have to at the very least respect my family. And I am unfortunately not referring to just my immediate family. I grew up with my cousins, we're a pretty tight knit group and if you can get along with them, well, that's over half the battle. These are the people who shaped me, it's important to me that everyone I love tries to get along. 2. If you could at least have some sort of appreciation for art or beauty that would be great =) Actual artistic tendencies are seen as a bonus.
