What can is ay about myself? What kind of person am I? I'm a happy outsider, in some ways, and a lucky insider in others, I am not afraid, and I would rather be loved and wanted than feared and needed. I enjoya good mind more than anything, I am always looking into things both biological and otherwise. I'm currently a student pursuing a double major in Biology/English with an emphasis on arachnids, I am also involved in undergrad research collecting spiders and DNA barcoding as well identifying previously unknown species. I work part time as a collections agent, and live alone with two Tarantulas and a crotchey old lady Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound). I love spiders, dogs, books, music, academic life, my mac, my friends, family and coworkers, The Black Hills, and many of the other places I've been lucky enough to travel. I believe that loyalty and respect are the foundation of any good relationship, and I also believe in understanding the future potential and appreciating the present circumstances. I am fiercly independant, and very gentle with people, I try to be as good to otehrs as I can be, and sometimes I fall short. I'm going to be in school for a long time, since I'm pursuing a Doctorate in Arachnology.
Non academically I have managed a pet grooming salon in a large veterinary practice, travelled and lived in Scotland for 3 months unaccompanied, and been promoted at my current job as a collections representative. Academically, I'm an honours student, I have made the deans list twice in two semesters, I have been published, I have been awarded scholarships for academic excellence in English and Biology, I have been given a research project to conduct the first every spider survey of the Black Hills, and also to DNA bar code the spiders as part of a worldwide project. No such survey or DNA bar coding project has taken place in this state before.
