   What am I looking for in a man?    Perhaps it may sound like too much to expect, but a knight on a white horse would be a really good start. You know, a real man who treats a woman like he'd want his mother treated.   He needs to be strong and protective, but not one who corrodes a relationship with unreasonable jealousy.   It's comforting to have someone with whom I don't have to be on constant guard, be it with words or actions. Someone who will allow me to "hide" in his embrace, away from the stresses and harshness of life from time to time. And allow me to do the same for him.   I'm a very independent woman, but I love doing things for a man who appreciates my efforts.    Although I don't consider myself high maintenance, I do appreciate a variety of cultural outlets. I have learned through the years how much I enjoy being with people. I'm not much for perpetual bar-hopping. Generally, there're only a couple of types of men one finds there.   I've often heard it said that "life's too short," but recently I heard someone add to that phrase and it really hit home. "Life's too short to live the same day twice." I'm looking for a man who will share each new day.
