I have been single now for a while, and I am now ready to start looking for someone special with whom I might be able to develop a long term, serious relationship.  I have a very wide array of interests, and I'm always looking for new things to learn and or do.  I enjoy sports (particularly basketball), playing pool, the theater and opera, movies, reading, good food, good drinks, and sharing a good laugh with my close friends.  I like to make people smile and laugh, but I can also be a good listener and can be serious when the occasion calls for it.  I will be honest with you...I will tell you the truth, even if the truth is not what you want to hear.  I have dogs and cats, so if you don't love animals, it probably wouldn't work for us.  I like to travel...I've never been outside the country, but would love to go to Europe someday.  My friends would say that I'm trustworthy and loyal.  I don't really photograph well, I'm much cuter in real life!  Take a chance and let's see if we click.    Oh, and I completely disagree with a lot of what this site's compatibility test says about me....

I have a BS degree in English Lit.  I started out as an art major and still like to paint and draw occasionally.  I mostly write now, and will be looking to get some of my work published this year.  Keep you fingers crossed for me!  My career is important to me, but it's not my life.  I own my home - bought it in 2001.  It's small, but it's a good one for a starter home. 

I like people who can laugh and have a good time, even having the ability to laugh at themselves.  I like people who can challenge me mentally, spiritually, with new thoughts, ideas or beliefs.  I enjoy seeing a new perspective on things that I already know about.  I would like someone who likes much the same things as I do, however, I don't think couples should have everything in common.  I think it works best when each person has some things that is "her thing".  I don't think a couple has to be together 24/7 to be a strong couple.  I like having some time to myself, and I would totally understand someone else who felt the same.  As for looks, if I had to say what my type is, she is brunette, with green or blue eyes.  I prefer someone who is not stone butch.  Soft butch, tom boy, or femme is fine.  She has a great sense of humour, and is open to new experiences.  However, even though that is what I would say my type is, I will chat with anyone who is not rude, demanding, or sets off any other flags in my head...I don't automatically rule people out for dates based solely on appearance.
