Through a Gravitational Lense
I an engineer by training, develop applications because that's my passion, and am learning to fly because I like being in the sky. I have done well financially and hope that some future apps I'm working on will allow me to only do better. I am not an extreme sports nut. Sometimes, I do like to slop around on a Sunday morning, reading the paper, and watching some news shows like Meet the Press. But I like to get out with Liz, my Lab, and do things like run around the lake, ride my mountain bike, eat at great restaurants, drink a good Scotch or Margarita, and go star gazing. Photography and Diving are my only hobbies. I am house-broken. That's the good stuff, I guess.
Now here's the honest, bad stuff. I do have a mild form of Asperger's. I'm not disfunctional or anything like that. But don't take me to a large party and expect me to be particularly peppy at the experience. No, both of us will not be happy. That said, I do go to the Austin music festival, so for some reason music seems to lessen my bitchy mood of being in a crowd. I do handle small groups very well. Being in a shopping mall is my version of hell. I don't have any ticks or other anti-social behavior...at least none that others have mentioned. I am very comfortable being off on my own but do enjoy the company of the one that I'm with. I do tend to overly focus on what I'm doing and can be very forgetful. It's not that I'm not thinking of the other person, but it's that I'm not thinking of anything else except what I'm doing. I am working on this. I have no desire to run your life, so don't ask me to, and neither do I want you to run mine, so don't try. So there we are, straight up.
I don't live under a bridge--there was some question as to whether that might come to pass when I was in Jr. High.
I'm low-maintenance and would
like someone likewise not on
the high-end of
maintainability. Someone with a generally
positive view of life who is not
pathological when it comes to
being a liberal/conservative
and does not take a good debate
as an argument. A need for
constant attention will mean
that we will get along for about
as long as an atom is tall. An
ability to be equally
comfortable in a cocktail dress as an
old pair of jeans would be
nice. Vanity and self-absorption
are not high on my list. And
if you think Intelligent
Design is the same as
science...well, that's incorrect. You don't
need to be hot--I'm not--but
do be just yourself. Money is
a mark of success but I hope
it's not something that is used
as a barometer for happiness.
