I'm a mother of 2 and teacher. My passion is the beach, and enjoy the mountains too. Honesty sometimes gets me in trouble,but with me, what you see is what you get. I tell it like it is. I think I'm a good mother, and after 25 years of teaching English, I think I've gotten that down pretty well, or so I'm told.  But my biggest accomplishment, life's hurdle, was living through my husband's terrible and prolonged illness and death, staying by him until the end, with my sanity, my life, my family and my sense of humor intact.  I now move on to another chapter in my life , anxious to see who/what life now has to offer.  I hope that this heart-wrenching experience has made me a better, stronger person, someone that can reach out to the right person in a new and maybe better way.

Looks are secondary.  I usually fall in love based on a guy's personality especially sense of humor, although being tall, I would feel more comfortable with someone at least 5'10". Sense of humor is a must. If you can't laugh at life and yourself, you need not apply. Occasional walks on the beach are also a must, as I grew up on the shore of Long Island and am having withdrawal pains from the ocean after 13 years in Richmond (no, I'm not a mermaid.) Total honesty and truthfulness are necessary. You need to be willing to talk things out, not keep them bottled up.  Be fun -loving.  Life is too short to spend it wrapped up in work all the time. I don't need fancy night clubs and four-star restaurants, just good company and conversation,&n bsp;fun ,& amp; amp; some laughs.
