This is always the tough part about these things but I guess the easiest way to do it is just jump in!  I'm a fairly traditional kind of guy (more preppie than anything else); great sense of humor (see the fun in just about anything); take friendships and relationships seriously because they're precious things to have; straightforward (I'm never afraid to answer a question); well-grounded; caring; adventurous; and passionate.  I'm easy-going and laid-back, spontaneous, organized but unstructured and adaptable.
I'd like to have a relationship but, to use the old phrase, "until Mr. Right comes along, Mr. Right Now is great."  I'm more of a Bear build -- I'm not a gym guy so I'm more a comfortable pillow than a washboard.  I equate making love with hot times, long and slow and completely mutual.

I had a very successful career with the Federal Emergency Management Agency for 36 years -- it was a long haul but a fascinating place to work.  I learned a lot about life, people, tragedy and rebuilding and how strong people can really be.  I'm currently a primary caregiver for an elderly parent so have adapted to that role as well -- it's a fair return after the upbringing I had. 
I retired four years ago and have had a great time -- I'm never bored between the garden, projects, periodic consulting work and volunteer work, and enjoying time with my friends.

I don't think there's really any way to categorize what the perfect "soul mate" looks like or is because it's either there or it's not there.  I don't have a fixed image in my mind of who or what that man is and I'm glad I don't because I don't want to be with the right person but have the "image" override my thinking and feelings.  Chemistry and soul ...ions are better when they're allowed to occur naturally instead of trying to fit into a mold.
