Looking for a new best friend; and
if it works out, a permanent
relationship.
I am an active person who has kept in good shape. I enjoy the outdoor/country life. I am looking for a best friend, leading to a long-term commitment. I believe one needs to be "best" friends, with your partner, before considering spending your lives together. I am not going to rush into anything. For some reason, it did not work out my first time (I am happy to share the details, when asked). I want it to "work" the next time; forever. In order to go from friends to romance there needs to be some "chemistry" between two people. We all want to find the "perfect" match. But, I have learned that finding the "perfect" person can take a lifetime. Finding someone who comes close is OK. After a while, if the chemistry is right, they become "perfect" for you. It might not be love at first sight, but love grows stronger as time goes by (with the right person). One needs to give the "chemistry" a chance to happen. Someone who is not your "perfect" match, on paper, could turn out to be the right one for you, after all! People who guess my age are usually at least 10 years off (on the low side). (My friends say I haven't aged in 20 years.) I do remember the 1st moon landing, the '69 Mets winning the World Series and Jets winning the Super Bowl III (I was raised a New York sports fan), the Beatles (on Ed Sullivan), Beach Boys, Elvis and the Supremes (I still prefer the music of the 60's, 70's and 80's over RAP, Heavy Metal," loud noise", etc.). I enjoy watching the Science and Discovery channels, reality shows and sports (baseball, football, golf or tennis) on TV. I am looking forward to being able to share old and new stories, watching TV, going to the movies, travelling, participating in sports, shopping, etc. with that special someone. I am very handy around the house; if it is broken I can usually fix it (or at least take it apart and but it back together without pieces left over). I like doing th
I have had the same job since college. I enjoy what I do. I work with allot of people and each day brings something new. I am very handy. No need to hire anyone for home repairs. Drugs, drinking to excess, cheating, smoking are things I just don't do. If I say I will do something, I eventually get it done. (OK, sometimes it takes longer than I think.) I am a builder in the summer. I build things that I am proud of when finished. (I am a perfectionist when it comes to doing things right the first time.)
My home is in Southern Vermont, but I spend allot of time in Upstate New York (Adirondacks) at the "vacation" home. If you like the country, over the city, we have much in common already. I hope to find a nice girl (honest, trustworthy, active, no drugs, no games, doesn't drink excessively, takes good care of themselves, no cheating, works to earn a living, spends wisely, makes a commitment and sticks with it, etc.) to share my life with. Life was meant to share with someone. What we do is not as important as doing things with someone. They should consider themselves attractive. Looks are important to me to get the relationship off the ground. I am open to trying new activities if that is what my partner wants. I am also open to allowing my partner to do their own thing if wanted. I would like someone who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty. Whether its in the garden, home and auto repairs or on a hike. I hope my match prefers to save money and spend it for a vacation or something we can share together, rather than buy things we can live without (unless money is no problem). I work at a ski area, so if you ski or snowboard that is a plus. I hope to find someone who enjoys cooking. I am not very good, so I'll clean up. I ALWAYS put the seat down! But I don't make the bed every day. The house is usually "organised" (junk not strewn everywhere) although the garage is full of "stuff". I have never had kids in the house, but their is a first time for everything, so I am open minded. I am not into the bar scene, but don't mind going out with my partner, if that is what they want. Staying at home, most of the time, is OK with me. I hope this helps. If you think we have some things in common, please let me know.
