I like to go out for dinner and a movie or even a nightclub for a little dancing (if you can call what I do dancing), but I'm just as eager to spend the night with a rented movie, talking and eating the dinner that I cooked! That is truly the most important thing to me - someone who knows the deepest parts of me and still loves me. I have been through quite a lot in my 30 short years on this big blue rock. I was born with a disability that left me just different enough from all the "normals" to have a ton of hang-ups and insecurities but not different enough to fit in with those who had greater disabilities. It left me in sort of this third category that made me feel invisible for much of my life. Yet, because of this and the many other hardships that my disability has put me through, I am who I am today and would not give it up for a second. So, though I my have sounded a little down - OK, a lot - I am truly thankful for my disability. It has allowed me to build character, to focus on academics and creativity, to develop kindness and empathy - all things that make me the man I am today. With my creativity and my experiences, I plan on being a best-selling author and published professor when I grow up. I say that because I am a 30 year-old man who still has so many dreams and goals and I confess, I still LOVE SpongeBob SquarePants! My character and empathy have made me into the best darn teacher ever. I teach Alternative Education. These are also children who fit into the invisible category for medical, academic, and behavioral reasons. They are hurting and I can relate. These are my kids. I love them to dea
