According to legend, the history of the first Valentine’s Day card goes like this: An emperor in ancient Rome decided that single soldiers made better fighters so he outlawed marriage for all young men. But one lone priest continued to perform wedding ceremonies and he was eventually tossed in jail. While imprisoned, the priest, named Valentine, natch, fell in love with the jailer’s daughter. Shortly before his death, he sent her a love note signed “from your Valentine.”
By the middle of the 18th century, it became common for lovers to exchange small tokens of affection or handwritten notes. But by the end of that century, printed cards began to replace written ones due to improvements in printing technology and cheap postal rates. Suddenly, the way to tell someone what was in your heart was to buy a card written by someone else.
What a giant step backward! Isn’t Valentine’s Day supposed to be about love? About passion? About showing someone what’s in your heart? When did this day dedicated to romance become only about sending some mass-produced, store-bought declaration of love?

Make your mix, present it to your love, push play and pucker up, because these tunes are sealed with a kiss. Here are three kinds of kisses, perfect for Valentine’s Day, that are as much fun to give as they are to get:
- Brow Kiss – For a very intimate kiss, while your partner is resting/sleeping with his or her eyes closed, very, very gently kiss the spot right below the brow bone.
- The Buzzing Kiss – When done correctly, this is a very erotic kiss. Gently place your lips against your lover’s neck, behind the ear. Now, send a shudder through his or her skin by gently growling and humming, vibrating your lips and cheeks as you do so. Move up and down the neck, over the bones of the face and lips.
- Neck Nibble Kiss – Gently nibble up and down your partner’s neck. End with a gentle kiss on the lips.
