Sure, this can happen. People tend to like what is familiar to them. Songs that you don't initially like grow on you the more often you hear them on the radio. This same type of reaction can happen when you meet people you don't know.

We are attracted to what is familiar to us. And more than one man has told us that a plain-Jane can turn into Marilyn Monroe once he gets to know her!

So, some single men will find it hard to keep things platonic with women. But just because a man (single or married) finds a woman attractive doesn't mean they can’t be just friends.

The great thing about being a human being is that we have a frontal cortex in our brains that allows us to inhibit more primitive urges and instincts. We have the capacity to regulate our emotional responses. There is no excuse for a man that steps out of line and tries to be more than friends with a woman when that action is not appropriate. But, as a woman, be sure not to send mixed messages to a man that you want just as a friend.

Remember, it takes two to tango, and men will always gravitate toward the woman that gives him "go" rather than “stop” signals!
