The Sexploration test is a unique test based on TRUE's longstanding clinical and statistical research into human sexuality. In fact, the study is currently under review for academic publication. The test was built in five phases:

- Our psychology team and international advisory board of experts (including sexuality experts and therapists) identified a wide spectrum of sexual attitudes and practices that act as a yardstick to determine what constitutes conservative versus liberal sexuality.
Three main factors were uncovered: General Attitudes About Sex, What a Person Likes to Do, and What a Person Likes a Partner to Do.
- TRUE's psychologists and advisory board members carefully prepared clinical interpretations of the quantitative models of sexuality that had been revealed by the study. These clinical interpretations were then synthesized with previous research on human sexuality in order to create highly accurate and comprehensive feedback reports.
- TRUE developed a new way to present a test of this nature — a methodology that could automatically gauge the comfort level of the test-taker so that the person would be less likely to see test items that would be personally construed to be irrelevant or offensive.
