Her, Iowa. Him, Houston. Could a long-distance relationship really work? Absolutely.

Just ask Farida Kessler, 66, from Iowa. She went the

distance to find Mr. Wright — Jim Wright, 66, from Houston, Texas. They were married on June 5th in a small, private ceremony in the gazebo in Jim's backyard. Their honeymoon is scheduled for later this fall.

After losing their spouses to cancer, it was hard for Jim and Farida to consider dating again. But neither of them was willing to give up hope.

"My oldest son died just a few months after my spouse did, and it was all I could do to hold myself together in order to finish the last semester of my teaching career. After finishing up the school year, with the help of friends I packed up and moved back to my hometown in Iowa," Farida said.

"After about a year and a half, a friend suggested I might meet some interesting guys on one of the personals columns, and suggested two. After looking those over, I didn't find what I was looking for. So I wrote to about three men on yet another service, met each for coffee, had no spark of interest in any of them," she said.

"I found TRUE on my own, and read Jim's profile. I can't explain, but I knew I had to connect with him! After we began corresponding, it was clear to both of us that we were meant to be!"

Jim also tested a variety of other relationship services before finding TRUE, "I belonged to Match, MatchMaker, eHarmony, Christian Singles, DreamMates and Senior Datefinder. I dated women I met on all those sites but nothing really clicked.

"One day in early March, I got a note of interest from a woman in Marshalltown, Iowa," explains Jim. "I wrote back saying that I was looking for someone a tad closer to Houston and wished her best of luck in her search."

That could have been the end, but Farida refused to give up.

"Fortunately, 'Rida didn't accept my response and wrote another e-note telling me some more about herself and her interest in me. Reluctantly, I answered — and that was start of something that neither one of us expected. Within days we were sending many e-notes back and forth and then we progressed to phone calls and more emails."

Less than a month later, Jim flew to Iowa and spent four days with Farida. He proposed in front of the flower counter of Wal-Mart.

"Since Jim and I had already established that neither of us was a very typical person, after the initial surprise I laughed as he went down on one knee, handed me the flowers and asked 'Farida, will you marry me?' I was determined not to show how embarrassed I was.

Nevertheless, I could feel the heat as my face and neck turned red! I answered, "Yes sir! I certainly will!' The people who had crowded around clapped and laughed!" she said, "We will always be grateful to TRUE for bringing us together."
