If you're really stumped, just look for the the EasyWriter box next to the Who I'd Like to Meet section of your profile and click the GO button. We'll help you write a great description of who you're looking for.

Or if you'd rather do it yourself, I'll show you how easy it can be to create a description of your ideal partner that someone totally compatible with you will read and think, “Hey, that’s me! I’ve got to email this cutie!”

Get started by choosing at least two statements from each of the categories, and just fill in the blanks. Talk about do-it-yourself: Could this be any easier (or more fun)?

Okay, here we go!

Category 1: You and Your Life (pick two of these):

1. Your career is ________.
2. Physically, you consider yourself ________.
3. When it comes to politics, you ________.
4. Your best qualities probably include ________.
5. You’re totally passionate about ________.

Category 2: Your Relationships (pick two of these):

6. You can put up with ________, but you absolutely can’t stand ________.
7. You’re looking for ________ from a partner.
8. Your family is ________.
9. Kids are ________.
10. Your attitude toward your partner’s friends is ________.

Category 3: Your Interests and Preferences (pick two of these):

11. You enjoy ________ on the weekends.
12. On a weekday, you can most often be found wearing ________.
13. You listen to ________.
14. You think it’s vitally important to ________ every single day.
15. You’d rather ________ than ________.

These statements are pretty open-ended, so they allow for all kinds of interpretations. See if you can think of creative answers, or better yet, try to come up with some new statements to include!

The point is not to find someone who matches these attributes to a T, but to get you started in describing someone you’d be completely wowed by.

Alright, by using the formula above, you’ll probably come up with some great statements about what’s attractive to you. Now what?

You’re totally passionate about your life and your career: You want what you have and you have what you want! You probably do something professionally that you feel strongly about and have a deep commitment to. I’m a sucker for non-profit types and artists (not necessarily starving)! As long as you care about what you do and want to leave the world better than you found it, chances are we’ll get along great.

Your family is an important part of who you are, however normal, crazy or in-between they might be. (What’s a normal family these days anyway, right?) You value healthy relationships with your close friends and family, but you also have realistic expectations of your loved ones. In other words, you see the best in people while staying cool with human shortcomings. And you probably have a good sense of humor about your own! You can deal with flaws and imperfections, but you take serious issue with dishonesty.

You enjoy being good to yourself on the weekends and take time out for a little R&R. It’s important for you to stop and smell the roses (I do frequently), and to have as much fun as you can. But you still think it’s important to do something for someone else -- even if it’s just holding a door for a senior citizen -- every single day.

Sample profile #2 (using statements 2, 4, 7, 9, 12 and 13):

You consider yourself an absolute knockout. Seriously! The specifics of your looks are not what’s important when I’m attracted to you - it’s confidence and sass that really do it for me! Aside from your self-assurance and unique style, your best traits might include boundless energy, enthusiasm and the ability to make friends with anyone. You thrive on spirited discussion because I do and I’m looking for someone who will keep me engaged!

You’re looking for a friend and an equal in your partner, and most of all you want a partner you can both laugh with and respect. You definitely love kids. (Bonus points if you have children of your own!)

You listen to lots of different music. Or you’re willing to let me introduce you to lots of different music! It doesn’t matter what kind, as long as it’s good. I think you music heads out there know exactly what I mean! At least most of the time, you’d rather read, see a great film, or get moving outside than just zone out in front of the TV. (Although you understand how necessary it is to just chill out!) You’re someone I can get active with, and if we click, we’ll be talking until the wee hours…

By now you should have an amazing desciption of your ideal partner! So get out there send a few emails -- or wink at someone -- and invite them to read your description. Mr. or Ms. Right should be on their way!
